Catechism

The great Charles Haddon Spurgeon said, "Begin early to teach, for children begin early to sin."

What better way to instruct the littlest ones among us, but through catechesis: a systematic dialogue of question and answer between a teacher and pupil which aims to implant doctrinal truths from scripture in the heart. Learners ages 3+ are suited for this Catechism, which has been largely adapted from Baptist Puritan Benjamin Keach's Catechism. Some inclusions also come from the Westminster Shorter Catechism and A Catechism for Boys and Girls.

"This will be written for the generation to come, That a people yet to be created may praise the Lord." Psalm 102:18

120 question and answer lessons are scheduled to be released in five major parts over the course of approximately one year. Little Pilgrims Theology asks and answers critical foundational questions pertaining the Christian faith. We earnestly pray that, by God's grace, God would be pleased to save and sanctify many sons and daughters for His glory as the gospel is made known through catechesis.

Although children as young as three can get started with this Catechism, older children, and even the entire family would do well to know these catechism questions and answers and the corresponding proof-texts thoroughly.

First, watch the catechism video lesson. Second take a short quiz to assess your understanding. Next, color and recite a memory verse. Then practice tracing that memory verse, and discuss! This is biblical discipleship at its core.
